Put on the circuit only recently via his own imprint Dr. NoiseM Tapes is the 20th issue of Dr. NoiseM's ongoing "Studio Works"-series in which he provides a bunch of seven fresh tracks, starting with "§3", a brutal fusion of hypercompressed HarshNoize and ethereal, off-kilter background choirs followed by "1=1" which serves a five minutes menu of alienating DeathAmbient before "121212" brings on more digital distortion and rhythmic brutalism for all Noize fetishists out there. With "Digital Blutrausch" we see the longest track of this album occupy nearly 33 minutes of total playtime, fusing elemnts of Noize and Extratone in a - surprisingly not nerve-wrecking - rather well calming way as one's brain is not able to process the supermassive amount of sonic events provided per fraction of a second. After this heavy excess the distorted, grinding movements of humonguos amounts of sonic mass served in the "Drop Out Network" seem way less of a threat to our psychic health than they'd be in another context, the short 31 seconds snippet "Edelweiss" provides a maelstrom of white noise whilst the final cut "Ephedrin" gets at us with more Ambient'ish qualities and calms things down over a droney, floating period of 13 minutes that incorporates both eerie moments as well as surmised, slow melodic movements which defo provide a nice contrast to the foregoing tracks on this album. Check!
